We have a client in our a-on-1 coaching program called the “Inner Circle”.
She came to us over a year ago weighing nearly 240 pounds, tired, and diabetic.
A nurse!!??
DIABETIC?!
She’s one of many nurses who desperately want to lose weight and get healthy to stop feeling like a fraud and be her patients' healthy, strong, and inspirational help.
After about 6 months of coaching with us, she lost over 40 pounds and was feeling amazing! … and reported back that it was much easier than all her other failed attempts of yo-yo dieting, counting calories, tracking macros, using my fitness pal, Beachbody workouts… the list goes on.

One of the major things we did was help her to practice taking care of herself as well as she wanted to take care of her patients.
But because she was so busy taking care of everyone else… it was hard to find time for herself.
So many diet & exercise plans are impossible to stick to… especially when you’re busy!

Often at the expense of yourself and your own health and weight loss goals.

❌ Bending over backward to make sure they’re good even if it means you have to put yourself on the backburner.
❌ Ordering pizza because it’s what THEY want… or because it’s the fastest, easiest thing you can get after a long day.
All while feeling guilty because it’s not what YOU need to feel your best.
What if there were a way you could take care of them without sacrificing YOU?

STEP 1: The Big Picture
There is a reason for every single thing that we do….
EVERY. SINGLE. THING!
If I turn my head to the right…
It could be because I want to see something over there.
It could be because I want to look away from something in the other direction.
I could have a kink in my neck that I want to stretch.
Or maybe I turn my head to the right while I’m deeply thinking…
So you wanna lose weight…
But WHY?
If you’re reading this blog it’s likely to be more confident.
Then again, you have a reason for wanting to be more confident…
To stand up for yourself.
To ask for what you want.
To be more respected at your job or in your house.
To feel attractive enough to date and find a partner.
WRITE IT DOWN…
And please, DO NOT just write “to be healthy”... because even that has a reason of its own.
Why do you want to be healthy?
Keep asking “why” until the answer cuts DEEP… you know what I mean.
It kinda stings a little… that’s how you know the truth about why you want to get in better shape.

No matter what…
STEP 2: Time Audit
For 3 days, pay attention to everything that you’re doing and especially keep your eyes out for moments when you waste time.
Examples:
- Scrolling through your phone mindlessly
- Sitting on the couch watching tv
- Mindlessly stress eating
- Gossiping
- Worrying
- Staying in bed when you’ve already slept a full night
- Sifting through things that could have been organized better
- Procrastinating
The other audit you can do is for things that you currently do…
But someone else could be doing! #Delegate
Examples:
- Grocery shopping (order instacart)
- Laundry
- Cleaning
- Dishes
- Order (healthy food) from uber eats, Starbucks, and your other favorites, and stop driving around for everything.
At the end of 3 days, add up the amount of time that you spent doing non-productive things.
STEP 3: Calendarize
Girl…. If you saw my calendar… even on a Saturday.
I schedule E-V-E-R-Y-T-H-I-N-G…
I put “walk the pups” and “shower & eat” in my calendar.
Why is this so powerful?
Well… you ever been unorganized? HA
If you said no, you’re not human and I’m not sure how you’re reading this.
Do you get anxiety?
Usually because there’s no clarity or structure.
We NEED these things!
When you are clear, there is minimal guessing.
You can be more productive when you have structure and not waste so much time NOT knowing what to do…
BEWARE: White space in the calendar invites trouble…
How to schedule:
We’re going to PRIORITIZE (that’s in caps because it’s sexy).
Now that you’re aware (from step 1) of the time that you are wasting… we all do it.
You can get organized with it.
- Write down your priorities in order of importance.
- Schedule out the things that need to be done for each of those priorities
- Top 1-2 priorities (Important and time-sensitive): Schedule these tasks first
- Priorities 3-4 (Important but not time-sensitive): Schedule these tasks second
- Priority 5 (Time-sensitive but not important): Delegate these tasks to someone else if you can.
- Anything below the top 5 (Not time-sensitive or important): Fuck ‘em for now…
If you don’t have a purpose for each activity…
Then you will have an excuse.
NOW… focus our attention on just doing a little better each day.
Even if that means you still eat pizza!!
Just have a salad first and one less piece of pizza than you normally do.
Pizza might not be your jam and that’s cool too…
But whatever your thing is…
Have a little less…
Chose a similar option that is a little better.
If you do this over and over… it makes a BIG difference.
